- The Manchester office is currently looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the Industry Business Sector. This sector encompasses various renowned client organizations, leading to involvement in high-profile projects with significant capital value. The successful candidate will play a crucial role within our on-site team, overseeing commercial activities for our clients. This presents an excellent opportunity for a dynamic individual with a background in the Industry sector, particularly in areas such as process, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, or nuclear fields. Role Responsibilities:
- Primarily based at the client site in Cheshire for 4 days a week.
- Generating estimates of varying accuracy levels based on available design information throughout project phases.
- Utilizing benchmarking data or historical cost data to formulate cost estimates, employing parametric or bottom-up approaches as per project scope definition and design information availability.
- Creating work breakdown structures for cost estimation and contract placement identification.
- Reviewing Scope of Works and Conditions of Contract on contract packages produced by client engineers.
- Assisting in the compilation of enquiry documentation and attending Pre-Tender meetings.
- Conducting Tender Assessment and resolving anomalies as needed, and presenting tender reports.
- Managing the collation of Contract Award Packages, cost management, change management, and financial reporting.
- Handling valuations, including variations, and managing Final Accounts for projects.
- Producing reports on Contract Business and providing pre and post-contract services.
- Delivering formal monthly project portfolio reporting.
- Monitoring all work stages to ensure the provision of accurate and professional services.
- Handling administration, filing, and archiving tasks.
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, preferably Chartered or with 5 to 10 years of related experience.
- Proficiency in all pre and post-contract quantity surveying duties.
- Effective supervision of subordinates, including planning, monitoring, and control.
- Ability to identify potential problem areas and refer them to the Team Leader.
- Capability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative.
- Strong communication skills at all levels.
