Location: Preston (Including Flexible Working)
Our client is seeking an experienced Architect to take on a lead role within their Building Design Team. As the Lead Architect, you will be responsible for the design, project management, and successful delivery of a diverse range of building projects.
- Designing and specifying building projects in compliance with current guidelines, standards, and regulations.
- Managing projects through planning applications, building regulations, and listed consent processes.
- Leading multidisciplinary Design Teams through all project stages from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and meeting client expectations.
- Managing external Consultants to maintain project quality and meet performance targets.
- Facilitating effective collaboration with Consultants and other disciplines within the firm.
- Providing specialized technical support and guidance within the Practice.
- Leading discussions on architectural-related matters.
- Generating fees for the Architectural Department.
- Supervising and delegating tasks to a team of two Architectural Technicians.
- Professional qualification as an ARB registered Architect, with a relevant degree (or equivalent) and post-qualification experience.
- Membership of ARB and other relevant professional bodies such as RIBA.
- Proven track record in architectural design and project delivery.
- Experience across various operational areas, serving diverse clients and user groups.
- Ability to organize, lead, and guide multidisciplinary Design Teams.
- Effective support in implementing and managing change initiatives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of architectural design principles, theory, and practice.
- Understanding of building and engineering disciplines and their integration in project design and delivery.
- Technical judgment to ensure compliance with design standards.
- Familiarity with the Design and Construction business environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Photoshop (or similar software).
- Experience across all 6 RIBA work stages.
- Excellent client-facing experience and communication skills.
