- Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Gateshead (+ Hybrid Working)
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum
About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic and growing company within the motor retail industry. This is a brand new role, providing a unique opportunity to shape the future of the property team and contribute to the company's expansion. The position is based at our support center in Gateshead with occasional national travel, primarily managed through virtual meetings.
Key Responsibilities:- Budget Management: Produce accurate construction budgets for all property development project.
- Cost Reporting: Generate monthly cost reports to monitor capital expenditure on property development.
- Final Accounts: Handle final accounts reporting for the accounts team.
- Data Analysis: Monitor actual construction costs from past projects to enhance future budget accuracy.
- Procurement Leadership: Lead tendering and procurement processes for all construction projects, coordinating with PQS and project managers.
- Contract Management: Advise project managers on contract issues, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Mentorship: Mentor and coach an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a contracting or consulting role within Quantity Surveying. Experience in the motor retail industry is advantageous but not essential.
- Qualifications: BSc(Hons) in Quantity Surveying; MRICS membership is advantageous.
- Skills:
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proficiency in JCT Building Contracts, construction specifications, contractor negotiation, and health & safety awareness.
- Strong financial understanding, logical and analytical capabilities.
- Knowledge in project management, building surveying, or architectural practices.
- Competitive salary of £55,000 - £60,000 depending on experience.
