Job Title: Project Planner
Industry: Heavy Fabrication and Engineering
Location: North East
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

About the Role:

We are seeking a Project Planner to join a leading heavy fabrication company working on large, high-value projects. This role involves developing and managing project schedules, monitoring progress, and ensuring efficient use of resources. Ideal for someone with hands-on experience in fabrication, this role requires basic planning skills using Excel, with no need for advanced software like Primavera P6.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Scheduling: Create and maintain project schedules using Excel, tracking key milestones, deliverables, and timelines for fabrication projects.
  • Resource Management: Support the project team in tracking resources, labor, and materials to keep projects on target and within budget.
  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly update schedules and highlight any potential delays or adjustments, ensuring clear communication with project managers and stakeholders.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate project records, assist with project documentation, and ensure all schedules are easily accessible and understandable for the project team.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to ensure alignment on project timelines and resource needs.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Experience: 2+ years in a planning or scheduling role within fabrication or heavy engineering.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel for scheduling, tracking, and reporting; understanding of fabrication processes is essential.
  • Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple timelines and adjust plans as needed.
  • Communication: Effective communicator who can relay updates and schedule changes to various teams clearly and concisely.
