Our client, a leading fabrication company in the offshore industry, is seeking a Rolling Stock Coordinator to join their growing team at their busy North East facility. This position is ideal for a graduate with a background in logistics, materials/production planning, or coordination. With ideally 2 years of relevant experience, the successful candidate will play a key role in managing fleet operations to support uninterrupted production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily fleet operations on-site, coordinating with all departments to ensure their needs are met and production runs smoothly.
- Develop, manage, and implement processes for the safe and efficient operation of vehicles on-site, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and health and safety standards.
- Assess and recommend new equipment purchases to optimize fleet performance and reduce downtime.
- Monitor fleet expenditure, making decisions based on long-term financial projections to ensure optimal fleet utilization and cost-saving strategies.
- Analyze fuel and fleet usage to implement solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize overall performance.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule, resolve, and address any fleet issues, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
- Support the Transport Manager with the daily collection of data and adjust site transport plans as required.
- A background in materials planning, production planning, or logistics coordination is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across various departments.
- Experience or a background in engineering, manufacturing, or construction is beneficial.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to seeking information and problem-solving.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
- A keen interest in learning site operations and understanding departmental needs.
- Excellent timekeeping and organizational skills.
- A safety and quality-driven mindset.
- IPAF and IOSH certifications are desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of industrial vehicles and relevant legislation is preferable.
- A degree-level qualification is highly desirable but not essential.
