Description
Job Title: Planner
Location: Remote (UK-Based Preferred)
Duration: 3 Months (with strong possibility of extension)

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced HVDC Planner to join our team, supporting early-stage works on major HVDC projects in the UK. This role involves working under the main contractor for cable supply and installation scopes (both onshore and offshore). The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering project planning expertise for net-zero HVDC tenders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage project plans for HVDC and export cable projects, covering both onshore and offshore construction.
  • Ensure alignment with National Grid, SSEN, and SPC requirements.
  • Integrate civil engineering activities, including horizontal directional drilling, into project schedules.
  • Perform activity coding, resource loading, and project reporting.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project milestones and tender requirements.
  • Support risk analysis, ideally using software such as Monte Carlo or similar tools.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience in HVDC projects and export cables.
  • Familiarity with National Grid, SSEN, and SPC standards and processes.
  • Strong background in civil engineering, particularly in onshore and offshore construction.
  • Expertise in planning software and methodologies, with a focus on resource and activity management.
  • Experience with risk management tools and techniques (e.g., Monte Carlo).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven track record in planning and delivering HVDC tenders.
  • Ability to work effectively in remote and collaborative environments.
Location Note:

This is a fully remote role; however, candidates must be based in the UK as projects are UK-based and site visits may be required in the future.

About the Projects:
This position supports net-zero HVDC tenders, with projects in early bidding stages. These include cable supply and installation scopes for onshore and offshore high-voltage systems.

Why Join Us?
  • Be part of impactful net-zero energy initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leading industry experts on cutting-edge HVDC projects.
  • Opportunity for extension and growth within a dynamic project environment.
