Description
Our client is looking for a Project Quality Manager to work on a long-term HVDC Interconnector project on a contract basis.

The Role

Leads the implementation and oversight of the Quality Management System (QMS) for the interconnector project, ensuring all project activities and deliverables comply with contractual, legal, and Employer quality requirements. The Project Quality Manager is responsible for developing the Project Quality Plan, overseeing quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes, and managing the interface with the Employer’s quality function. This includes the coordination of inspections, audits, and the documentation of quality records across the entire delivery scope, including engineering, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.
The role ensures that project quality objectives are defined, tracked, and achieved, and that lessons learned and continuous improvement are embedded throughout the project lifecycle. It involves close collaboration with engineering, document control, BIM, and site teams to ensure consistent application of quality standards and specifications.

Key Duties
  • Prepare, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Plan, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and project-specific requirements.
  • Oversee internal and external quality audits, manage non-conformances, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and closed out.
  • Coordinate QA/QC activities across subcontractors, including Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) review and approval, inspection coordination, and quality deliverables tracking.
  • Ensure that all quality documentation, records, and certificates are properly maintained and submitted in accordance with handover requirements.
  • Support the development of Work Package Quality Records (WPQRs) and final data books for commissioning and turnover.
  • Liaise with the Employer’s quality team on matters of compliance, quality metrics, and performance improvement.
  • Lead root cause analysis exercises and promote lessons learned integration across project phases.
The Person
  • Proven experience in quality management on major infrastructure or energy projects, ideally including subsea cable or power transmission scopes.
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, QA/QC systems, and inspection/testing regimes for construction and offshore installation.
  • Experience managing supply chain quality, including review of supplier quality plans and factory acceptance testing (FAT).
  • Familiarity with document control procedures and quality record management.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Degree in engineering or quality management field; IRCA Lead Auditor certification or equivalent highly desirable.
