- Description
- Our client is a large fabrication company servicing a variety of sectors from their busy North East facility. Due to recent growth they now require a Supplier Quality Engineer on a full time permanent basis.
The Role
Conduct supplier audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and drive corrective actions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and communicate quality standards, specifications, and expectations to suppliers.
Analyse and resolve supplier-related quality issues through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor and analyse supplier performance metrics, providing regular reports to management and suggesting improvements as needed.
Work closely with suppliers to establish quality agreements, conduct risk assessments, and ensure ongoing compliance.
Participate in the selection and qualification of new suppliers, assessing their capabilities and quality management systems.
Provide technical expertise and support to suppliers for quality-related matters, fostering a collaborative and continuous improvement mindset.
Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to supplier quality, integrating relevant updates into the quality systems.
Assess suppliers' quality management systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and company requirements.
Develop and implement supplier quality assurance programs and processes to enhance the overall quality of incoming materials and components.
The Person
Degree in engineering, quality management, or equivalent in a related field.
Proven experience in supplier quality engineering within a manufacturing or relevant industry.
Strong knowledge of quality management systems, standards, and methodologies.
Familiarity with statistical methods and tools for data analysis.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
