- Our client is a large fabrication company servicing the Offshore industry from their busy North East facility. Due to recent projects won they now require a Maintenance Manager on a full time permanent basis.
The Role
Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance strategy in line with industry best practices and specific organisational needs.
Lead a team of maintenance technicians and engineers, providing guidance, training, and supervision to ensure efficient and effective preventive maintenance operations.
Establish a routine inspection schedule to assess the condition of machinery, equipment, and facilities to identify potential issues before they become critical.
Create maintenance schedules, assign tasks, and allocate resources to ensure minimal disruption to production or operations.
Oversee the inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies, ensuring that necessary items are readily available and maintained at appropriate stock levels.
Develop and manage the maintenance budget, tracking expenses and optimizing resource allocation for preventive maintenance initiatives.
Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and replacements, and generate reports on maintenance performance.
Collaborate with external vendors, suppliers, and contractors to source parts and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and environmental standards, promoting a culture of safety within the team.
Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance maintenance processes and optimize asset reliability.
Develop and execute contingency plans for equipment breakdowns or emergency maintenance situations to minimise downtime.
The Person
Ideally experienced working within a heavy steel or fabrication environment.
Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in an Engineering setting.
Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices, reliability-centred maintenance and predictive maintenance techniques.
Proficiency in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems for tracking and scheduling maintenance activities.
Leadership and team management skills, including coaching and mentoring capabilities.
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Budget management experience.
Safety and regulatory compliance knowledge.
CSCS or equivalent
