Salary: £30k - £40k
Location: Birtley, Tyne and Wear
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Technical Project Owner to join our growing team based in Birtley.
The role is responsible for the technical delivery of hydraulic system projects, including the design, planning, and execution of projects within the agreed scope. Engineering builds include hydraulic power units, control consoles, bespoke hydraulic systems, and manifolds.
The Project Owner will be responsible for providing technical information and documentation to customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and hydraulic technicians. They will maintain communication with customers and ensure all commercial, technical, and financial targets are achieved.

Main Duties:
- Communicate effectively with customers
- Review customer requirements
- Prepare engineering drawings and hydraulic specifications
- Perform engineering calculations
- Select and size components to optimise system performance and cost
- Problem-solve and contribute to product improvements
- Prepare technical specifications for subcontractors
- Ensure project targets are met
- Attend site or workshop when required
- Provide support across all relevant areas of work
- 2:1 Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Ability to perform engineering calculations
- Strong project management skills
- Motivated and self-sufficient
- Interest in working in both office and workshop environments
- Full UK driving licence
- Clear and confident communicator
- Knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical control systems
- Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software – Autodesk Inventor preferred
